Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) student, Ryan Tonkin, came into Mr. Ruimy’s office to chat about the innovative work he is doing this summer. While Ryan is in his third year at Simon Fraser University majoring in business, he still has not decided what area of business he is going to pursue. This job is giving him the chance to test out, not only an industry he wouldn’t have had the chance to, but also explore the marketing side of business.
Ryan is working on a wide range of tasks such as managing social media, tracking YouTube analytics, polishing his writing skills, and outreach work to journals, bloggers, and media. He has been given the flexibility in this internship to work from home which allows him to learn how to multitask and manage his time wisely.
Thanks for the visit Ryan! It’s exciting to see a clear example of the innovation taking place in our community.
