As part of the Government of Canada’s commitment to conduct widespread consultations with Canadians and study the issue of electoral reform, the Special Committee on Electoral Reform has invited Canadians in its review of the electoral system. In conjunction with the work of the committee and the Minister of Democratic Institutions’ outreach with Canadians, MP Ruimy is reaching out to constituents for productive and thorough discussions on how to improve Canada’s democratic process. As per his consultation strategy, he will be hosting an Electoral Reform Town Hall to facilitate a dialogue on the issue of electoral reform with members of the community. The purpose of this event is to listen to the thoughts and values of Canadians in regards to their democratic system and answer relevant questions they may have on the issue.
MP Ruimy is pleased to welcome Mark Holland, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Democratic Institutions, to Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge to discuss electoral reform directly with constituents in the community. He will be present at the Town Hall and will provide a brief presentation followed up a Q&A session.
All constituents are welcome and encouraged to bring their thoughts and questions!
