Pitt Meadows Museum and Archives is a museum that showcases pioneer and agricultural artifacts to demonstrate the history of the Pitt Meadows Community.
Petra, a Canada Summer Jobs student working at the museum for the summer explained how this job was a dream come true and is a perfect fit. Being a student majoring in History at Thompson Rivers University. Petra is grateful for the opportunity to put her knowledge to work. The job this summer is to run the day camp for children within the community. it is up to her to get creative and create interactive and informative crafts and activities for the children to participate in. Skills that Petra has learned working at the Pitt Meadows Museum and Archives include how to manage her time, how to interact with the children, and how to think outside of the box. She enjoys creating activities that are a balance of fun and seriousness so that the children are able to learn their community’s history.
I enjoyed seeing your passion for your work Petra. Thank you for your visit!
