Wild Play is an interactive outdoor adventure park which encourages physical activity, play and fun for people of all ages.
Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) student, Parker, explained how WildPlay is the perfect place for him to do his internship as the experience he is getting over the summer directly applies to his education. Parker is currently attending Thompson Rivers University to obtain his Tourism Management Degree and an Adventure Guide Diploma.
This summer Parker’s main task will be creating positive experiences for the guests of Wild Play. He will guide the individuals through the obstacle courses, while simultaneously managing their risk. Risk Management is a very important part of his job as he is responsible for the safety of the adventurers at all times and is responsible for educating them on how to properly wear their safety equipment. When asked about the five skills he has learned since starting his job at Wild Play, Parker responded with how to create a positive guest experience, risk management, insight into the tourism industry, teamwork, and expanding his leadership skills.
It is clear that you are getting some hands-on experience that can be useful in your future career Parker. So great to see the fun you are having at Wild Play!
